YouTube vs. TikTok Social Gloves: Full results and recap
What happened when some top YouTube and TikTok social media stars put on boxing gloves and entered the ring? Read on for the Social Gloves results.
The Saturday, June 12, Social Gloves amateur boxing event was a unique fight card that matched YouTubers against TikTok stars. The Live x Live pay-per-view fight card wasn’t your typical boxing event, but there were several impressive performances.
Social Gloves had a big-fight feel as the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, FL, hosted the event one week after the Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul contest. Social Gloves took a page out of the Triller Fight Club playbook as they merged a caché of social media influencers with famous musicians.
Musical acts like Trippie Redd, DJ Kahled, and Migos took the stage while Austin McBroom vs. Bryce Hall was the main event. Here are the full Social Gloves fight results.
Social Gloves Full Fight Card Results:
Ryan Johnston defeats Cale Saurage by TKO in round 5 (53 seconds)
Saurage oddly postured to start the fight. Still, he managed to land some wild right, looping hands. Johnston was flatfooted and didn’t let his hands go. Johnston stayed patient and started to walk Saurage down and land cleanly.
Johnston scored a standing eight-count in round 3. It happened again in round 4, and Saurage ate a lot of punches. Blood leaked from Saurage’s mouth and Johnston’s nose.
Johnston tagged Saurage easily in round 5 and forced the referee to stop the fight.
Landon McBroom defeats Ben Azelart by TKO in round 2
Azelart had no business being in a boxing ring. McBroom rocked him early and scored a standing eight-count less than 30 seconds into round 1. Shockingly Azelart made it out of round 1, but McBroom scored another standing eight in round 2, and the fight was stopped shortly after.
Tanner Fox vs. Ryland Storms–canceled
The boxing commission didn’t approve this fight because of weight concerns.
FaZe Jarvis vs. Michael Le
Jarvis and Le went at it from the opening bell with no headgear. Le looked good early, but Jarvis scored a standing eight-count in round 1. Jarvis followed it up with another standing eight before the bell to end the round.
Things got real in round 2 when Jarvis landed a right hand that put Le out. It was a highlight KO.
DDG defeats Nate Wyatt by unanimous decision
DDG vs. Wyatt was a competitive bout. Each had their moments, but DDG came on in round 3 and scored a standing eight-count. Both gassed down the stretch, but DDG had more in the tank. This was the first fight of the night to go the distance, but DDG got the decision victory.
Vinnie Hacker TKOs Deji in round 3
Deji swung for the fences from the opening bell. Hacker took a lot of punches early but took them well. Deji switched between southpaw and orthodox stances as he told FanSided he would.
Hacker nailed Deji with a big left hand in round 2 as Deji started to tire a bit. In round 3, Deji took an odd standing-eight count. He didn’t appear hurt but very tired as he took a knee. Hacker mauled Deji for another standing eight.
Hacker was relentless, and Deji offered nothing back. He gave the referee no choice but to stop the fight. It was the first and only TikTok win of the night.
AnEsonGib and Tayler Holder fight to a majority draw
AnEsonGib expended a lot of energy in round 1 as Holder stayed calm and collected. AnEsonGib kept up the pressure in round 2 and scored well.
Holder never got going, while AnEsonGib never stopped throwing. Surprisingly, AnEsonGin grew stronger as the fight went on. The fight went the distance. AnEsonGib deserved a unanimous decision win, but somehow the fight was ruled a majority draw.
Austin McBroom vs. Bryce Hall
Things between McBroom and Hall got testy in round 1 as Hall lost a point for illegal blows. He was warned several more times.
McBroom scored a standing-eight count in round 2. He repeated that feat in round 3 as he bloodied Hall’s nose and mouth. McBroom was hitting Hall with everything, and the referee stopped the fight. McBroom and Hall bet each other $1 million, and McBroom dominantly won the wager.
