The Season 5 premiere of Yellowstone is scheduled for Nov. 13.
More good news for viewers who prefer not to spend additional money for added streaming services: According to major showbiz websites, 6666 — producer Taylor Sheridan’s upcoming Yellowstone spinoff — will air on the Paramount Network. The series had originally been reported as programming for the Paramount+ platform. Episodes will eventually be available on the streamer, but only after they air on the cable network.
And speaking of Yellowstone: Paramount Network announced Wednesday that the Season 5 premiere will air Nov. 13, followed by the first episode of yet another Sheridan-produced drama, Tulsa King, starring Sylvester Stallone. The latter series will, following the game plan Sheridan used for The Mayor of Kingstown and 1883, run on Paramount+ after a two-episode preview on Paramount Network.
Meanwhile, back to 6666.
Neither a premiere date nor cast members have yet been announced, but Paramount has released an official synopsis for the new drama: “Founded when Comanches still ruled West Texas, no ranch in America is more steeped in the history of the West than the 6666. Still operating as it did two centuries before, and encompassing an entire county, the 6666 has inspired a new scripted series where the rule of law and the laws of nature merge in a place where the most dangerous thing one does is the next thing. The 6666 is synonymous with the merciless endeavor to raise the finest horses and livestock in the world, and ultimately where world-class cowboys are born and made.”
Faithful Yellowstone viewers will recall that the real-life 6666 Ranch is where the oft-beleaguered ranch hand Jimmy Hurdstrom (Jefferson White, pictured above) was sent to learn the finer points of becoming a “real cowboy.” In the Season 4 finale, he apparently graduated with honors — and was treated with new respect by Rip (Cole Hauser), Lloyd (Forrie J. Smith), and John Dutton himself (Kevin Costner) when he returned to the Yellowstone Ranch. Indeed, when he indicated a desire to return to Texas, he was granted his freedom — and not taken to the train station.
Does that mean we’ll be seeing Jimmy in 6666? Watch this space for further developments.
