Where to stay near Rome’s Castel Sant’Angelo

Castel Sant’Angelo, with its round and towering keep, is easily one of Rome’s most recognisable sights and not just because it could once claim to be the tallest building in the city. Originally built as a mausoleum for the emperor Hadrian, today it houses a museum of paintings, sculptures and military memorabilia.
