Where to stay near Paris’ Grand Palais

Paris’ Grand Palais des Champs-Elysées was built for the 1900 World’s Fair – not as a royal seat, but as an exhibition space and a monument to French art.

Over the last century, its played host to artists’ retrospectives, fashion shows and circuses, even becoming a military hospital in WWI. Nowadays, this historic space still displays more than 40 exhibitions a year, also housing the Grand Palais National Galleries and the Discovery Palace science museum.

From its spot on the Rue de Berri, a stroll to the Grand Palais takes around 13 minutes, with the option of a picturesque detour into the Jardins des Champs-Elysées park.
