The BEST Ways To Reset Skills In ESO
Skill Points are an essential part of playing the Elder Scrolls Online! Players use Skill Points to purchase abilities either active or passive, and their various morphs from the plethora of skill lines available in the game. Your skills are ultimately what determines your character’s playstyle, build, or more simply put, what you can or cannot do.
While there are a variety of ways to earn skill points fast, check out our guide for how to get skill points fast in ESO, sometimes through the course of playing a character you may want to change how your character plays by redistributing your skill points, unlearning certain skills and unlocking other ones instead to get that specific build that you’re looking to create. So, fear not, this guide will walk you through the best way to reset your skills in the Elder Scrolls Online and the good news is it’s EASY to do.
How to reset skills in ESO
There are currently three ways to reset your skills in the Elder Scrolls Online. Players can utilize the Armory Station, use a Skill Respecification Scroll, or use Shrines of Rededication.
Using the Armory Station to reset skills
Let’s start with the most cost-effective method first, the Armory Station. The station itself is free and available from the Crown Store. Simply place it as a furnishing in one of your homes to get started. The Armory Station allows players to make multiple slots to load character builds from. Note that these builds are saved from the player’s current loadout at the time of saving the build.
When you first place down your Armory Station it will come with two “empty” build slots. You can use these slots to save any build your character currently is using, including all equipped items, champion points and of course skills. To exploit the Armory system to allow us to reset our skills for free, simply keep one of these build slots as empty at all times. Then, any time you want to reset your skill points, just go back to your Armory station and load into your blank build and you’ll find all your Attributes, Champion Points, and Skill points refunded to you.
The benefit for this method is it is completely free, but keep in mind that this method resets everything about your build, including Champion Points, Attributes, Mundus Stone and will even remove your Vampire or Werewolf curse if you have it.

Using Respec Scrolls to reset skills in ESO
Skill Respecification scrolls are both the most convenient but also the most expensive method for resetting skills in ESO.
These scrolls are available from the Crown Store for 700 Crowns. Once purchased, players will receive one scroll allowing them to respec all skills whenever and wherever they like.
When leveling up at character level 43 you are rewarded with one of these scrolls as well as an Attributes Respecification scroll. Occasionally you can also receive the Skill respec scroll as a Daily Login reward, so be sure to check the in-game calendar for potential availability.
Using Shrines of Rededication to reset skills in ESO
By far the most popular option for resetting skills in ESO is heading to a Shrine of Rededication and making an offering of gold to reset your skills.
Where is the Respec Shrine for my Alliance?
Each Alliance in The Elder Scrolls Online has a different location for its Shrine Of Rededication.
-
Aldmeri Dominion – Shrine to Stendarr/S’rendarr located within Elden Root in the Grahtwood zone.
-
Daggerfall Covenant – Shrine to Stendarr located within Wayrest in the Stormhaven zone.
-
Ebonheart Pact – Shrine to Stuhn located within Mournhold in the Deshaan zone.

The Rededication Shrine for Ebonheart Pact is located in the city of Mournhold in the zone of Deshaan in the room next to the banker.
How expensive is it to reset Skills in ESO?
As mentioned previously, once arriving at a respec shrine, a donation of gold is required to successfully reskill. This amount of gold is determined by a few variables as it scales with the character level and the number of previous reskills. When respecing in ESO the price also increases by roughly 50 gold for each skill you chose to learn/unlearn. This can make this process quite expensive and cost easily over 10,000 gold to reset all your Skill Points when at max level. Thus, this method is far better suited for smaller changes and tweaking your build versus the other methods.
Resetting Skills versus resetting Morphs
While at a Shrine of Rededication, you have the option to donate to reset either your Skills or your Morphs. Resetting your Skills is far more expensive than resetting some or all your Morphs so if you plan ahead and know which specific skills or morph you would like to change then it will help save some precious gold.
