Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl: How to Get Manaphy Egg

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl players can take advantage of an in-game event to get a free Manaphy Egg. It isn’t just handed to you though. There are some things you have to do if you want to get your Manaphy Egg before time runs out.

Getting a Manaphy Egg in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl

So far, the only way to get the Legendary Pokémon Manaphy in Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl is by getting the Mystery Gift Egg. Thankfully, it isn’t difficult. But you should know that this is available as a special event for anyone who purchases the game up until February 21, 2022. After that, it’s no longer available.

Again though: getting the Egg isn’t hard. There are two ways you can go about it.

Option 1: Defeat the Third Gym Leader

After you defeat the third gym leader, Maylene, the mystery gift with your Egg should be available. When you open up your menu, there should be a “Mystery Gift” section. As shown in the image above, it’s the last thing on the menu after “Options” and underneath “Trainer Card”.

Option 2: Visit Jubilife TV Station

For those who like getting things early, you can get to the gift before defeating Maylene. This requires you to travel to Jubilife City.

Jubilife City is the largest city in Sinnoh and is impossible to miss. If you head to the third floor, there should be a character near the bottom you can talk to. They’ll ask you to share your opinion about the TV programming. Once you select “Yes”, you will then be asked about the type of programming you like.

There’s a list of options, and you’ll want to choose “EVERYONE HAPPY WI-FI CONNECTION“. Save your game at this point. The “Mystery Gift” option in the menu should show up. If not, restart your game.

Getting your Manaphy Egg

No matter which option you choose, you’ll get your Mystery Gift. Now all you have to do is unlock your Manaphy Egg to get to that Legendary creature in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl.

Select the “Mystery Gift” in the menu. From there, click “Get via Internet“. A new screen will show up with two options: Manaphy Egg Gift and Clothing Gift. Of course, select the Manaphy Egg.

And there you go! You got your Egg!
