To evolve certain Pokémon in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, players will need the Fire Stone. This item has been around since the first generation of Pokémon games, and certain Pokémon cannot evolve without this Evolution Stone. While players can’t simply buy a Fire Stone, there are a few different ways to obtain them.
The Fire Stone is an Evolution Stone used to evolve certain Fire-type Pokémon. There are two secured Fire Stones players can find in Sinnoh; however, players will need some luck to find more after that. Here are all the ways to find Fire Stones in Pokémon BDSP.
There are four fire Pokémon that are affected by Fire Stones. They can be used to evolve Vulpix into Ninetales, Growlithe into Arcanine, Eevee into Flareon, and Pansear into Simisear. However, these Pokémon will not evolve into new forms without the Fire Stone in Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, so players will want to hang onto a few.
Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl – How to Obtain Fire Stones
To find the two secured Fire Stones in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, players will first need to earn their fifth gym badge by beating Hearthome City Gym leader Fantina. After defeating Fantina, players will be granted the Surf ability, which they will need to acquire Fire Stones. After obtaining the ability, players should head to Floaroma Town, towards the bridge that leads to Route 205.
From here, players should use Surf to ride the river west to Fuego Ironworks. The spot can be identified by a grassy patch directly above the player at the river. From this area, the player just needs to walk upwards to find Fuego Ironworks. There are two Fire Stones hidden inside the Ironworks, where one can be found by following the moving puzzle around the building, which will lead the player around to the stones. One of the Fire Stones can be found in the northeast corner of the building, while the other Fire Stone can be obtained by talking with Fuego, who can be found by his furnace.
The only other way to obtain Fire Stones in the game is through mining in the Grand Underground. Players simply need to mine sparkling spots, and they’ll have a chance of digging up a Fire Stone. However, this method is much more random, and players may find various other treasures and Evolution Stones during their expedition. Fire Stones are just one of several Evolution Stones Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl players can use to evolve their Pokémon how they like. For those who want to stock up on every item, or those who have Flareon as their favorite Eeveelution, stocking up on Fire Stones is a worthy quest for any Pokémon BDSP player.
