This is an endgame build, meaning I don’t recommend you swap to this until you get a half of a
Radiance
setup up and running. As far as the full gear setup goes, it does not have to be anything crazy and can be achieved in less than 200tg in total.

. The skill is unique in its scaling: fire gives 1.9 efficiency in damage, where as cold, lightning and poison work at -0.8 efficiency. Check FAQ section for an example. Do note that phys/magic is not counted.

Phoenix Wave is a skill that works similar to Fire Trap from Classic Lord of Destruction. It shoots a fire wave that hits a single time, piercing and covering a very large area. It also heals you on cast, but we don’t care about that as an assassin.
We use Pyroblast (+ Banish) for stationary singletarget, Phoenix Wave for TP bosses if necessary. Damage should be there either case.
My leveling consists of clawsin until 115 then swap to psionic. Stay psionic until you get your Phoenix Wave shrinecrafted Wrist Blades. More on that later. Mind Ripple + Shuriken can get you easy farming and easy ubers.

Relic: Unlike previous guides, I’m gonna suggest Phoenix Wave relic to be used with this. Skill level matters to the damage so much and the relic is like wearing a third claw.
NOTE: Like I mentioned in the BASICS-section, stay away from generic spell damage. It lowers your damage. Only fire spell damage where possible
MERCENARY
I can’t recommend any merc in specific, but go A3 if you really want one.

FAQ
Why is generic spell damage bad?
Per the skill description (here), you get 190% efficiency with fire spell damage and -80% efficiency with cold, lightning and poison. That means 10% generic spell damage is actually -5% spell damage to Phoenix Wave. Like Quov Tsin trophy gives the charm that 10%, which translates to:
+19% damage gain (fire)
-8% damage loss (cold)
-8% damage loss (lightning)
-8% damage loss (poison)
totals out to -5% “spell” damage lost (19 – 8 – 8 – 8)
Why wrist blade, and no other base?
They are the only IED base, and IED bases have some great affixes that can spawn on them, as opposed to physical. 10% all attributes, 300 life, cannot be frozen, just to name a couple.
