Night is a unique item in Little Alchemy 2 as it’s a necessary element to curate several Final items combinations belonging to different categories. It’s also pretty rare since there are a lot fewer possible recipes to craft it compared to other mid-game elements.
- There are only four recipes to create Night from scratch in Little Alchemy 2.
- The first and simplest recipe involves combining Moon with Sky.
- An alternate moon-based recipe to make Night is mixing Moon with Time.
- Another way to make this element is by fusing Time with Day, which will also give you a Final Item mid-way through the recipe – Aurora.
- The fourth and final recipe for Night includes combining Time with Twilight.
- As seen, there are three recipes for making Night that use Time as an ingredient.
- Time is a base element that you can only obtain once you’ve discovered 100 items in your Encyclopedia.
- There aren’t any Final items in the game that you can directly make with Night, but indirectly there are 30+ craftable Final items with it.
- Night is also related to most weather-based items like Day, Dawn, and Sun.
Night Recipes
The main ingredient needed to make Night is Time, a base element you can make as you approach the mid-game phase. Furthermore, most Time-related recipes for Night are fairly similar, usually requiring just one or two additional steps or elements.
Moon And Sky
As the only recipe on this list that doesn’t need Time, you’ll likely find this one as the optimal shortcut to making Night from scratch if you’re starting up the game from square one. Fortunately, both of these base ingredients are also extremely basic. So starting off, let’s follow this recipe to get a Moon:
- Earth + Earth = Land
- Land + Land = Continent
- Continent + Continent = Planet
- Earth + Fire = Lava
- Lava + Air = Stone
- Planet + Stone = Moon
Once that’s done, we can proceed to make a Sky with this series of combinations:
- Earth + Earth = Land
- Land + Land = Continent
- Continent + Continent = Planet
- Planet+ Air = Atmosphere
- Planet+ Fire = Sun
- Atmosphere + Sun = Sky + Aurora
Moon And Time
This is probably the easiest Time-oriented recipe to make Night in the game since you just need to follow the 6-step combinations above to make a Moon and complete the first half.
Time, on the other hand, is slightly more complex to obtain. It’s the only item in the game you can’t craft directly. You need to do 100 different combinations to automatically get Time as an ingredient in your Encyclopedia.
Unlike most other items, such as Algae in Little Alchemy 2, Time is a base element. This means you can make a lot more combinations and items with this ingredient! This includes most of the evolutionary items like Death which is Life infused with Time. And fortunately, most Final items usually include Time as their second element, so you don’t have to go out of your way to search for different combinations.
The most efficient to make 100 elements without searching for each individual recipe is by mixing base elements like Earth, Fire, Air, Water, and Time with themselves. You could also combine duplicates of newly-made items repeatedly, like merging 2 Galaxies to form a Galaxy Cluster and then merging 2 Galaxy Clusters to make a Universe. These are much simpler combinations that rapidly stack up your Encyclopedia.
Time And Day
This is another simple recipe that’ll give you an extra Final Item – Aurora. Since we’ve already covered how to get Time, you can focus on the next element to getting Night, Day, from scratch via the following combinations in the game:
- Earth + Earth = Land
- Land + Land = Continent
- Continent + Continent = Planet
- Planet+ Air = Atmosphere
- Planet+ Fire = Sun
- Atmosphere + Sun = Sky + Aurora
- Sky + Sun = Day
Time And Twilight
This recipe is almost identical to the one above since you just need one extra step. Once you’ve gotten Time and Day in your Encyclopedia, simply combine the two to get Twilight. And after that, add Time to the recipe again, and you’ll obtain Night.
Final Item Recipes With Night
Now that we’ve covered all the combinations for Night, let’s see what Final Items we can make with it in the game. As a reminder, a Final Item is a special ingredient that you get as the last product after a series of combinations, and they can’t combine with anything else. Therefore, you can’t use them as a base ingredient in any recipe.
Binoculars
- Recipe: Telescope + Telescope
To start, we have probably the easiest Final item you can use with Night, Binoculars. This item is easy to make, particularly because of Night, since all other recipes for it need at least 5-10 more steps. Therefore, having Night in your Encyclopedia is very beneficial for this specific recipe.
The only ingredient that Binoculars need is a Telescope which requires two elements – Glass and Space. You can make both of these items with this process:
- Fire + Earth = Lava
- Lava + Air = Stone
- Stone + Air = Sand
- Sand + Fire = Glass
- Earth + Earth = Land
- Land + Land = Continent
- Continent + Continent = Planet
- Planet + Planet = Solar System
- Solar System + Night = Space
- Space + Glass = Telescope
Once that’s done, double-click on the newly-made Telescope to create an instant duplicate and combine the two together to make the Binoculars.
Dry Ice
- Recipe: Carbon Dioxide + Cold
The first half of this recipe includes Carbon Dioxide, which is a combination between Night and Plant. Making a plant is a lengthy process, but thankfully you’ll already have most of its base ingredients in your Encyclopedia after making a night. Starting off, we’ll need to make Soil using this recipe:
- Water + Water = Puddle
- Puddle + Puddle = Pond
- Pond + Pond = Lake
- Lake + Lake = Sea
- Sea + Earth = Primordial Soup
- Fire + Fire = Energy
- Primordial Soup + Energy = Life
- Life + Earth = Soil
Now, we can make a plant by combining this soil with Rain with these steps:
- Earth + Earth = Land
- Land + Land = Continent
- Continent + Continent = Planet
- Planet + Air = Atmosphere
- Atmosphere + Water = Cloud
- Cloud + Water = Rain
- Rain + Soil = Plant
With that out of the way, we can focus on making Cold, whose base ingredients are already in our Encyclopedia with the aforementioned Plant recipe. Simply combine your ready-made Rain and Human, and you’ll make a Cold without making any additional elements.
Catnip
- Recipe: Cat + Plant
If you’ve already made Dry Ice with the above recipe, then this one should be cut down much shorter because you’ve already accumulated most of its constituent ingredients. With the Dry Ice recipe, we’ll already have our Plant, so now we can solely focus on making the Cat.
Cat is a combination between Animal and Night. Since we’ve also unlocked a Life in our Encyclopedia with the Plant recipe, all we need to do is add the following:
- Land + Life = Animal
- Animal + Night = Cat
Toucan
- Recipe: Owl + Palm
A toucan is one of the most challenging birds to make in Little Alchemy 2. That’s because its two main ingredients, Owl and Palm, are nearly the exact opposite of each other and require several steps to make individually. So if you want to get a Toucan in tens rather than hundreds of combinations, you need to have Night.
Let’s first look at the Owl, for which we actually need Night. This is a slight extension of the previous Animal recipe that we’ve covered, so if you’ve made a Cat with the recipe above, then you’re nearly there. Simply follow these two steps after making an Animal to complete the process:
- Animal + Air = Bird
- Bird + Night = Owl
Next, let’s move on to the Palm. This includes two major elements – a Tree and a Beach. We’ll first make the tree by using the Plant and its constituent elements that we made in the Dry Ice recipe and just add a few more items:
- Life + Energy = Human
- Human + Fire = Firefighter
- Firefighter + Firefighter = Idea
- Human + Idea = Philosophy
- Philosophy + Planet = Big
- Big + Plant = Tree
After that, we have the Beach, which is simpler and less time-consuming:
Now, just combine the Beach with the Tree to get Palm, and then merge the Palm with the aforementioned owl to get the exotic Toucan.
UFO
- Recipe: Space Station + Alien
Out of the several space-themed Final items in the game you can make with Night from scratch, a UFO is probably the easiest of the bunch. Most of the ingredients you’ll need are fairly basic, and the entire process itself is modest in size.
We’ll first start off with the Space Station that’ll need Night and the execution of this recipe:
- Fire + Earth = Lava
- Lava + Air = Stone
- Stone + Stone = Wall
- Earth + Earth = Land
- Land + Land = Continent
- Continent + Continent = Planet
- Planet + Planet = Solar System
- Solar System + Night = Space
- Space + Wall = Space Station
With the Space Station now complete, we’ll now make the Alien by reusing some of the elements from the previous ingredient’s recipe to quicken the procedure:
- Water + Water = Puddle
- Puddle + Puddle = Pond
- Pond + Pond = Lake
- Lake + Lake = Sea
- Sea + Earth = Primordial Soup
- Fire + Fire = Energy
- Primordial Soup + Energy = Life
- Life + Space = Alien
Final Remarks
That wraps up our guide on all possible combinations to make Night from scratch in Little Alchemy 2, along with some Final Item recipes that include it. As mentioned, Night is one of those overlooked elements that are not only needed for certain hard-to-get Final items but also to make most other recipes easier to make. So if you want to complete your Encyclopedia quicker, this is definitely an item not to be missed!
While on the subject of crafting Night, a recent Subreddit Post showcased how a user ran into a few problems correlated to the game’s detailed crafting system. Thankfully creating Night shouldn’t be too much of a hassle as much as the other recipes.
