Kyle Chrisley, Todd Chrisley’s son, turns himself into police after alleged workplace assault
Kyle Chrisley, son of reality-television star Todd Chrisley, has been released from police custody following a recent arrest.
Chrisley was arrested Tuesday on a charge of aggravated assault by the Smyrna Police Department in Tennessee and subsequently booked into the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center, Lisa Marchesoni, a public information officer for the center, confirmed to USA TODAY. Chrisley was later released on $3,000 bond.
A warrant for Chrisley’s arrest was issued following a work-related incident Monday, during which the 32-year-old was allegedly in a physical altercation with supervisor Deven Campbell and brandished a “fixed blade,” according to a press release from Smyrna Police. Chrisley voluntarily appeared for booking procedures on Tuesday.
Chrisley is scheduled to appear in court March 20.
Campbell alleged that Chrisley struck him “multiple times in the face and upper body,” as well as threatened to stab and kill him, according to a police affidavit obtained by USA TODAY Wednesday. The responding officer also noted Campbell had sustained head, neck and hand injuries following the altercation, including bruises and lacerations. Witnesses confirmed that Chrisley had a knife and threatened to stab Campbell.

Chrisley’s arrest follows the recent legal trouble of father Todd and his wife Julie Chrisley, who were sentenced to 12 and seven years in prison, respectively, in November after being found guilty on federal charges in June. In addition to their prison sentences, Todd and Julie each reportedly received an order of 16 months probation.
Todd and Julie were convicted on charges of bank fraud, tax evasion and conspiring to defraud the IRS. Julie was also convicted of wire fraud and obstruction of justice. Federal prosecutors said the couple was driven by greed as they engaged in an extensive bank fraud scheme and then hid their wealth from tax authorities while flaunting their lavish lifestyle.
“The Chrisleys have built an empire based on the lie that their wealth came from dedication and hard work,” prosecutors wrote at the time. “The jury’s unanimous verdict sets the record straight: Todd and Julie Chrisley are career swindlers who have made a living by jumping from one fraud scheme to another, lying to banks, stiffing vendors and evading taxes at every corner.”
The Chrisleys gained fame with their USA Network reality show “Chrisley Knows Best,” which followed their tight-knit, boisterous family. Kyle Chrisley appeared on two episodes of the series in 2014, according to IMDB.
The Chrisleys have three children together: son Chase, 26, daughter Savannah, 25, and son Grayson, 16. Chrisley is Todd’s son from a previous marriage. Grayson found himself in the hospital in November following a car accident in which the teen drove into the back of another vehicle that was sitting in traffic, a public affairs officer from Metropolitan Nashville Police Department confirmed to USA TODAY at the time.
The Chrisleys also had full custody of Kyle’s 10-year-old daughter, Chloe, as of November.
