‘I’m 4ft tall and charge £750 a night to dress up as an Oompa Loompa at stag parties!’ Dwarf entertainer, 21, insists his unusual career is NOT demeaning
- Marc Corrieri is 4ft 2in and charges £150 an hour to attend events
- Dwarf entertainers are a huge trend at stag parties in Scotland

- Travels with a bodyguard to ensure drunks don’t attempt to throw him
- Dwarf Management, an English agency, is also cashing in on the trend

- Disability rights campaigners insist the stag party trend is demeaning
- Inspired by The Wolf of Wall Street, which includes a dwarf scene
Many will have been shocked by a scene in Leonardo DiCaprio film, The Wolf of Wall Street, which shows top stockbrokers hiring dwarves to throw at a huge target during a party.
But it seems American stockbrokers aren’t the only ones to hire little people for parties, after 4ft 2in Marc Corrieri revealed that he earns up to £750 a night for entertaining stag parties.
Marc, 21, from Motherwell in North Lanarkshire, charges £150 an hour to accompany revellers and often finds himself handcuffed to the groom.
Entertainer: Marc Corrieri charges £150 an hour to entertain revellers at stag parties
Though it is against the rules, Marc admits he does get picked up at parties
Worthwhile: Mr Corrieri insists his career is not demeaning and gets him lots of female attention
But although the stars of The Wolf of Wall Street were seen throwing dwarves, the diminutive entertainer says that’s a step to far for him – and has a bodyguard to prevent it.
The demand for stag party midgets in Scotland is so great that some travel from as far afield as the West Midlands to help meet demand.
But not everyone is amused by the trend: disability rights campaigners insist the stag party trend is demeaning.
However, Marc says he is pursuing a worthwhile career and says he has a set of ground rules that keep his dignity intact.
‘It’s a different career,’ he explains. ‘I wanted to have a laugh and I just thought, “go for it”. I get paid to go out and party with different lads, we get a lot of attention from the ladies and I get to enjoy myself.’
Shocking: Many were horrified by the dwarf-throwing scene in new film, The Wolf of Wall Street
Limits: Although Marc is happy to dress as an Oompa Loompa, he refuses to dress up as a woman
Marc admits with free beer and someone else driving he has had some pretty wild nights
He added: ‘The first time I did a stag party I didn’t know what to expect, especially when my boss, John [McCormack], turned around and said I was going to be handcuffed to him.
‘I dress up for them [stags] as Superman or as an Oompa Loompa but I draw the line at dressing up as a woman – that’s a no go.
‘It’s free beer and John drives so it’s perfect. I’ve had some pretty wild nights but luckily John is there with me to make sure nothing goes wrong.
‘I don’t do it for the money, I earn enough, I just enjoy doing it.’
At the majority of events, Marc is accompanied by John McCormack, manager of Glasgow-based Buff Butlers in Glasgow, who makes sure clients stick to the rules.
These include no picking up or throwing, no tampering with his drink, not using the word ‘midget’ and no police involvement.
Demand: So popular have dwarf entertainers become in Scotland, English agencies now send talent north
Marc’s partner John says that ultimately people just want to have fun with Marc
Dignity: Marc enforces a set of rules that help maintain his dignity and has a bodyguard to prevent throwing
Marc added: ‘Last time I was at a stag do and 10 minutes in someone just lifted me up – he had had too much to drink.
‘I could hear him shouting that he’d love to throw me about and do this and that. You don’t pay to throw someone about, you pay for the little person to enjoy the night with you.’
‘I chaperone him just to give him the peace of mind and make him feel safe,’ added John. ‘There is always one person who spoils it.
‘They pay a deposit upfront so if they step out of line then I get Marc and we will leave immediately.
’75 per cent of our bookings are from men who want the stag to be handcuffed to our little wee man.
‘Wherever the stag goes, wee man goes, that includes the bathroom – oh yes they bond pretty quickly.’
John says that having Marc at a stag or hen do is appealing to people because it makes it different
Stag: Most of Marc’s bookings involve being handcuffed to the groom – whatever he happens to be doing
‘It adds something different to a stag party, and I think people nowadays are always looking for something different and we provide that.’
Another entrepreneur aiming to tap into the lucrative market is Darren Horan, owner of talent agency Dwarf Management, which is based in Staffordshire.
Mr Horan says he has been sending little people to Edinburgh to meet Scottish demand – even though a night of entertainment can cost more than £500.
‘We charge overnight accommodation and at least £500,’ he said.
However disability campaigner Emma Bowler, who is 4ft tall, disagrees and said that she ‘can’t understand’ the appeal
‘I can’t understand why on earth anyone would do this – I can only think they must be desperate for money, really desperate.
‘Average height people think they have the right to ask short statured people to do whatever they see fit – give them hugs, handcuff them, throw them.
‘Even if I were desperate for money I wouldn’t do it because for me the only possible outcome is that people will be having a laugh at someone just because they are small.’
