Turn other notifications off or on. Tap the white or blue sliders to the right of each of the options below to turn them on or off:

Sounds – Turn on/off the Instagram sound.
Badge App Icon – Enables/disables the badge app icon to show the number of unread notifications in the corner of the Instagram app.

Select the notification type. Under the “Show as Banners” slider, you can choose either Temporary or Persistent . This option will not appear if “Show as Banners” is turned off.

Set preview options, decide if you can read content without opening notifications from Instagram. Scroll down and tap Show Previews and choose one of the following options:

Follow the person if needed. If you don’t follow the person you want to enable post notifications for, click the Fplow button at the top of their profile.

Click the Turn on Post Notifications option in the menu above. Post notifications will be turned on, meaning you will now receive a notification on your phone every time the account in question posts.

You can turn off post notifications by going back to your profile, pressing ⋯ or ⋮ and then tapping Turn off Post Notifications in the menu.

Advice

When you receive a lot of notifications from strangers, you can switch all app notifications to From People I Fplow whenever possible to reduce the amount of notifications that come in.

Warning

Even with all notifications turned on, Instagram notifications won’t always show up on your phone, especially when you get a lot of notifications at once.
