How to Send Messages from Facebook Fanpage

This wikiHow teaches you how to send a message from a Facebook page (fanpage). If your business has a Facebook page and you want to engage with people who like it through Facebook Messenger, here are a few ways to do it. Recently, however, Facebook only allows you to send messages to users who have contacted the page before. There are many ways to encourage users to message the page.

Turn on messaging on fanpage

Open the Facebook fan page. If you are opening the Facebook homepage, proceed as follows:

Find the Shortcuts item in the left menu bar.
Click your site’s name.
If you don’t see this option, you can click “Pages” below the “Explore” section and select the page from here.

Click Settings in the upper-right corner of the page. In the upper-right corner of the page, you’ll see a Settings button just to the left of the Help button.

Click Messages from the list of options in the middle of the page. You will be redirected to the general settings page. Messages is the fifth option on the list.

Make sure you’re looking at the menu to the right of the main menu.

Check again to make sure this box is checked and click Save Changes . You’ll see a check box next to the option Allow people to contact my Page privately by showing the Message button. Make sure this box is checked, otherwise you will not be able to receive messages.

Click Page in the upper left corner. You will return to the main part of the page.

Click the + Add a Button located below the cover photo. On the right side of the page, just below the cover photo is the + Add a Button option located in the light blue frame. This option allows you to create a button and users will click on it to message the page.

Click Contact you . Below Step 1 (Step 1) we will have five options. Since you want to receive the message, click Contact you.

Select Send Message . Facebook will give us five options with the button created. These are all necessary options, but in this case you need to choose to send the message.

Select Messenger . This is the only option below step 2, but you still have to click it to add a button to the page

Click Messenger Platform from within the left menu. Once automatically redirected to general settings, the menu on the left will offer some specific settings options. Scroll down to Advanced Messaging Features . You must have Facebook approval for this type of messaging. Subscription messaging allows the site to send non-promotional messages to users.

Click Request . This option is located to the right of the subscription messaging section. When you click that, the window containing the form will open.

Fill in the form. Filling out this form depends on the type of site you operate. You can choose the type of message to send: News, Productivity, or Personal Tracking. You will then have the opportunity to add additional details about the message to send to the user. The form also asks you to provide a template for the message to send.

Note: these messages must not be promotional in nature, or you will not be granted access to the subscription messaging feature. Check the box at the bottom of the form to demonstrate that you understand this.

Advice

Try navigating to site settings and clicking Messaging in the leftmost menu bar. You’ll be able to customize the site’s messaging settings, Response Assistant, or set up an appointment when texting.
