When you join 2 colors of yarn, do the 2 colors run into each other instead of staying on their own separate stitch? Well, I have the solution to your problem! I will show you exactly how to seamlessly join yarn colors. This technique works whether you are at the end of a row or in the middle of a row, like below.
Can you tell where the new color starts and the other ends? This is the way that I have joined yarns for a very long time and it’s the only method that I use. It’s my favorite way to join different colors of yarn, anywhere in my work.
Is the Seamless Join Hard to do?
NO! It’s very simple and easy to do.
Can you use this Technique with any Stitch?
Yes! You can use this technique on almost any stitch to give you that seamless join look!

Step – by – Step
On the very last stitch of a row, or the very last stitch before you want to change colors, is where you will make this join.
In the example below, I will be doing it on double crochet, but this technique works with any stitch.
The stitch before you change colors (or last stitch of the row before) Go ahead and begin to work as normal. In this case, I’m working a double crochet. So, I will go ahead and yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over pull through 2 loops and leave the last 2 loops unworked.
Switch the yarn you are holding to the new color that you want to use.
Yarn over and pull through with the new yarn color
This way when you go to work your new stitch, you start with your new color!
This works on any stitch! Just the very last time you yarn over to pull your yarn through to complete the stitch, yarn over with your new color and complete the stitch with it. This will give you a seamless join every single time.
To complete it, I will gently tie the 2 colors into a knot and weave the ends in.
