Prepare before scanning


Tip: Most printers come with a USB cable that you can use in case the wireless connection doesn’t work.

- Go to https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/drivers-downloads in a web browser.
- Click Printers .
- Select the model number or type the model number in the search bar and press Enter .
- Select the operating system by selecting in the drop-down menu next to the heading “Operating System.” (If there is no driver for your operating system, you probably don’t need to install the driver.)
- Click Select next to the driver you want to download.
- Click Download .
- Open the installation file and follow the instructions.



- If your Canon printer has an automatic document feeder, place the document in the tray with the side to be printed facing up. Align the guides on the document tray so that they are flush with the width of the paper. You will hear a beep when the document is properly inserted.

Scan documents using IJ Scan Utility

- On a Windows machine:
- Click the Windows Start button.
- Open the Canon Utilities folder.

- Open the IJ Scan Utility folder.
