Three basic ways to prepare green beans
- Pour a moderate amount of water into a large pot to cover the beans.
- Bring the water to a boil over high heat, then add the washed and cut green beans to the water.
- When the water comes to a boil again, turn the stove down to low and simmer for about 4 minutes or until the beans are tender but still crisp.
- Pour the green beans into the basket, then add salt and pepper to the beans and eat right away.
- Pour water about 2.5cm high into the pot and place the steamer on top.
- Cover the pot with a lid and bring the water to a boil. When the water boils, open the pot lid and put the washed and cut green beans into the steamer.
