Step 1:

After buying cassava , peel and soak the potatoes in dilute salt water for 5 minutes to reduce the pus , then wash them thoroughly with cold water and drain. Use a knife to grate the potatoes into the bowl , after you are done , squeeze out the water for the tapioca .
