Steps
Video
- The front camera is great for selfie clips because you can see yourself on the screen while recording a video.
- Long press anywhere on the screen to activate Snapchat Lenses. Lenses uses facial recognition technology to add effects to subjects (such as dog ears). You can scroll left on the dial and follow the instructions that appear on the screen to see what the lens will do.
- When you hold down the record button, the outer white circle will turn red to indicate the length of the video, and a red circle will appear in the center of the record button to show that the camera is recording.
- The video will stop automatically after 10 seconds after the circle outside the spin button turns completely red.
Add effects to videos
- Filters can be enabled in the Manage Preferences section of the Settings menu. Swipe down from the camera screen and tap the ⚙ icon to open Settings.
- Tap the selection and use your finger to position the object on the screen.
- Use your finger to move to position the caption on the screen.
- Click the back arrow icon next to the crayons to erase the error, if any.
Save or send video
- Tap the Mute icon in the lower left corner to save or send the video without sound.

- A Story is a collection of snaps you’ve shot and added in the last 24 hours. Friends can review your Story multiple times.
- Snaps that are more than 24 hours old will automatically disappear from the Story.

- If you want your friends to watch and respond to videos as a group instead of individually, you can create a group by tapping the Group icon in the upper right corner after you’ve selected two or more friends.
