If you decide to delete your instagram account–for whatever reason–it can be quite frustrating to learn that there are no specific instructions on the instagram app for this. Fortunately, you can still delete an account from the Instagram app via the app’s Help Center option; then all that remains is to simply delete the app from the iPhone.
