How to Clean the Bathroom

Wipe walls, windows and/or ceilings. If there is mold on the ceiling, you should start spraying bleach/disinfectant on top and wait for a few minutes. You can do the same for the wall (if the wall is made of brick) or use a different cleaning product. Use a sponge or rag to scrub the surface of the tile you just sprayed. Care should be taken to avoid scratching or drying the surface when cleaning.

• Wear rubber gloves while scrubbing to prevent drying of hands from exposure to harsh detergents.

Wash the shower. Spray the cleaner on the walls and shower and let it sit for a few minutes. Specially designed spray cleaners remove soap scum as well as effectively clean bathtubs that have not been scrubbed for a long time.

• For locations with a lot of exposure to hard water that are prone to moss and rust, you should use a detergent that helps remove calcium, lime and rust. Do not use abrasive cleaners, green cleaning pads or pot scrubbers on porcelain to avoid scratching and tarnishing.
• Soak the shower head. If your shower is clogged with a build-up of hard water or soap scum, you should remove the residue, soak the shower overnight in a vinegar/water mixture, then scrub it away with a toothbrush.
• Returning to bathroom cleaning, you should scrub the walls, faucets and showers, rinse with extremely hot water, and dry with a towel. You can clean the faucet ball with a paper towel or towel.
• Shower screens are also very susceptible to mold. You should mix a solution from water and bleach in a ratio of 2:3, put it in a spray bottle, and then spray it on the mold spots. Or you can remove the shower curtain and wash it in hot water mixed with soap and bleach.

Clean sinks and pedestals. You should clean the soap and toothpaste residue from the sink with a little detergent, then use a sponge to wipe it down. Don’t forget to clean trash cans, toilet paper holders, and items left in the bathroom for a long time. ^[1] You can use an old toothbrush or cotton swab to clean the area between the faucet and the handle.

• You should not use a toilet-cleaned rag or tissue to clean the sink and sink to prevent the spread of harmful germs. It is best to use a separate rag to clean the toilet.

• Don’t forget to use a separate rag or tissue when cleaning the toilet (throw the towel away instead of flushing the toilet after use).

Scrub the toilet with a brush, then flush. You don’t have to scrub too hard as the soapy water has had time to soak in and clean the toilet bowl. You can fill the toilet with a viscous and acidic cleaning solution in a collapsible spray bottle. You should be careful to cover the entire rim of the toilet and avoid spilling it into other areas. ^[2]

• You should let the toilet soak in the detergent for a few hours before scrubbing the entire toilet, including the rim, with a brush. Scrub once to evenly distribute the cleaning solution (albeit thinner) in the toilet, wait a little longer, then scrub more thoroughly and then flush.

Sweep and mop the floor. Start from the position furthest from the door. You should sweep up all dust and debris that falls on the floor, then clean the floor with water mixed with bleach and soap. Rinse the floor with clean water to remove soap residue that causes slippery. You should make sure to clean the area where the toilet bowl joins the floor as this is an extremely dirty area. You should also not forget to clean the baseboards and molds because these are the places where a lot of dirt accumulates.

Find an old toothbrush you don’t use, then rinse it. Removes toothpaste residue inside the brush. Apply a small amount of bleach or a safe cleaning product to the brush. Scrub clean. The toothbrush is the ideal scrubbing tool for hidden and tight corners in the bathroom.

Turn on the fan. Bathroom ventilation can prevent mold and help you clean your bathroom more often. You should always remember to turn on the fan after leaving the bathroom to help keep the bathroom dry and prevent moisture.

Clean the bathroom after use. To ensure that mold doesn’t build up in your bathroom after general cleanings, it’s a good idea to take time to clean your bathroom after each shower. Combined with opening the fan will help the bathroom clean mold.

Tidy up the bathroom. The bathroom that looks “messy” is actually caused by the mess. If clothes are piled up in the bathroom, you can place a rattan or even a cardboard basket in the bathroom to collect all the dirty clothes. Place the toothbrush in the cup or basket. Put other items in an old shoebox and place under the sink to help keep the bathroom surface tidy.

Scrub the toilet. Although it doesn’t look dirty, minerals in the water can build up in the toilet, so you should scrub it regularly. If you put in the effort to scrub the toilet once a week, the task of general bathroom cleaning will become easier and less frequent.
