This wikiHow teaches you how to activate Microsoft Office on PC and Mac. If you already have an Office 365 subscription, you don’t need to activate Office, just sign in with your Microsoft account. If you buy the retail version of Microsoft Office, you will need the 25 digit product key that comes with the Microsoft Office product packaging. You can use your product key to activate Office on an Office app or website.

Sign in with your Microsoft account. Enter the email address and password associated with the Microsoft account.

Fill in your credit card information and click Next . If you’re using auto-renew, you’ll need to fill out the form with your credit card information. The credit card will be automatically charged when the activation period ends and Microsoft Office needs to be renewed.
