The Fortnite Season 4 Battle Pass is super-hero based, unlocking up to 7 different skins and 7 new emotes
Fortnite Season 4 is finally here. The Giant Comet in the sky which made everyone extremely curious in the previous season, detached into a few relatively tiny pieces of itself, which launched onto the map of Fortnite Battle Royale in the form of shards. These shards crashed onto different places of the map which made a huge impact on the landscape, almost completely destroying The Dusty Depot and obliterating many other locations all over the map. Curiously enough, glowing crystals can be discovered around the craters created by these shards, which can be consumed by the players, granting them low gravity for a short duration. Players take no fall damage and can jump higher and slower while having this buff.
Apart from this, some new locations have been added onto the map viz. The hero and villain bases, a completely new location called ‘Risky Reels’ and not to forget, The Dusty Divot which is what remains of the old Dusty Depot. I’ll only be covering the changes made to Fortnite Battle Royale so lets get right into it!
Notable Changes in Fornite Season 4 :
- Headshots are now prioritized when other body parts are in the way.
This is a nice quality of life change. Previously if you aimed for a player’s head and he suddenly changed his weapon, there was a chance that you would hit the player’s hand or his gun because of the weapon-change animation. This won’t happen anymore as the game will make sure that your shot will land.
- The Crossbow has been vaulted.
The extremely high skill-cap weapon which was added in the Valentine’s Day update has been removed from the game. The fact that it had infinite ammo and could be spammed in quick intervals was quite handy. This is a sad day for Dr Lupo who is notorious for his Crossbow plays.
- You are no longer limited to just the 6 slots on your emote wheel for Sprays and Emotes and can now use any of the ones you own in a match!
A quality of life feature that everyone was waiting for. Considering the number of emotes available in Fortnite and how cool all of them are, 6 slots were never enough.
- The Season 4 Battle Pass
The Fortnite Season 4 Battle Pass is super-hero themed, unlocking up to 7 different skins and 7 new emotes. Season 4 also introduces new “Spray” emotes with which players can spray-paint on flat surfaces in-game. This is very similar to the graffiti sprays in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
Justice for The Orange Shirt Kid:
A fellow young Fortnite enthusiast who came to be known as the “Orange Shirt Kid” got an instant cult following after he submitted his tremendously enthusiastic dance clip for the Boogie Down contest.

The internet was extremely displeased when he placed at #23 in the contest and a petition was made on change.org to make him the contest winner. Over 13000 people signed this petition and though they didn’t make him the winner, Epic Games immortalized the Orange Shirt Kid’s dance by adding it as an emote into game in Season 4.
