Honda Civic 2016 uses Keyless Remote to start the engine in addition to a normal lock/ unlock mechanism. Without battery, the car cannot be started. This guide show how to replace the Lithium battery inside Honda Civic 2016 Keyless Remote.
What you need

Make sure to have replacement battery ready. You will need 1 pc of CR 2032 Lithium battery.

Remove the metal key by sliding the switch on the back of the remote and pulling the key out.

After removing the key, you will see 2 plastic bars. This is a place where you can split the remote open.

The manufacturer recommeded using a coin but any hard tool or even the key itself will work as well.

Now you can gently pry it open

Removing the old battery from the left side.

Remember that the + side of the battery is facing up.

Inserting a new CR 2032 battery from the right side first and then press the battery down. It should make a good ‘click’ sound
