What is Wonder Egg Priority

Wonder Egg Priority is a beautifully animated psychological fantasy anime. The series introduces us to Ai Ooto dealing with the fallout Following the suicide of her best and only friend, Koito Nagase. In her despair, a mysterious entity convinces her to purchase a “Wonder Egg.” Upon breaking the egg, a world materializes in Ai’s sleep where she defends the spirits of “dead girls” from knife-wielding demons and enormous monsters. Ai is hesitant to her task initially but is convinced that defending the spirits of the dead will return her lost best friend to life.

While I’m not typically a fan of fantasy action anime, Wonder Egg Priority is a different breed of anime. The series balances the sensational action sequences with our main character’s psychological inner turmoil without taking away from either facet of the show. In fact, the two themes work together to make a thought-provoking and exciting anime.

The first episode aired on January 13, 2021, in Japan. Season 1 ran for 12 episodes with the last episode airing on March 31, 2021. There is currently no news on Season 2, but a special episode is set to release on June 30, 2021

Where To Watch Wonder Egg Priority

Wonder Egg Priority is currently only available on the Funimation streaming service. You can watch all 12 episodes of the first season free in Japanese with English subtitles. Funimation has a great English dub of Wonder Egg Priority, but you need to sign up for a premium account. There is a 14-day free trial which is plenty of time to watch the entire series. Note that this is a new series so, a little less than half of the first season is finished dubbing.
