In Loving Memory of Susie Salmon

Susie Salmon, aged 13, of Norristown, Pennsylvania, was murdered on December 6, 1973. Susie died a very mysterious and unexpected death. Although police aren’t sure how she died yet, they know that it was when along the way home from school. Every day, she would walk home with her house beside the school with the cornfield in between. At the moment, nobody knows who killed Susie but police have considered this a murder case based on evidence found in the cornfield so the police are still on the hunt to catch the murderer. Susie was the eldest daughter of three children from Jack and Abigail Salmon. She was always a lovely, kind, and caring young lady who was loved by her friends at school and mostly her family. One of Susie’s favorite hobbies was to make ships in bottles. She made hundreds of these boats with her father,Jack, and her favorite part was to lift the sail from the boat. May you rest in eternal peace.

Memorial service will take place on February 6, 1974 in the town church near the Revolutionary War gravestones at 8:00 am in the morning.The family wishes to thank all of those who offered their condolences over their moments of sorrow. The first anniversary of Susie’s death will also take place on January 6,1974 in the cornfield at sunset for singing and memorializing Susie as a community.
