And despite being an Eldian family, the Ackermans were hunted down for the same reason!

Still, it’s reasonable that the Eldian blood Mikasa inherited from her father would let her turn into a Titan since both she and Armin were able to hear Eren’s telepathic message to every Subject of Ymir in the world when he proclaimed that he’d flatten it. Not to mention the fact that Reiner’s father isn’t an Eldian, and yet Reiner can wield the Armored Titan’s powers without any problems.

She possessed a natural mastery over ODM gear and can strike a Titan’s nape with pinpoint accuracy due to her sharp reflexes. She’s been shown to be extremely effective against human foes as well. Though she still has a long way to go before she’s at Levi’s level, she’s pretty much unstoppable, but her concern over Eren clouds her better judgment, causing her to make reckless mistakes that she wouldn’t otherwise.

When she was led to believe that Eren had been eaten during the Battle of Trost District, she used up all her gas, falling to the streets where she was almost eaten by a Titan, and when Eren was taken by Reiner and Bertholdt, she was so focused on saving him that she allowed herself to fall right into a Titan’s grasp, breaking a few ribs in the process. When she and Levi went to save Eren from the Female Titan, Mikasa got too hasty and was nearly crushed by Annie’s backhand.
