Spring is just around the corner, I can almost smell it! That means Saint Patrick’s Day is almost here too.

When I started talking to my kids about the gold at the end of every rainbow, they were confused about this mystical secret. I was slightly embarrassed. So, we decided to turn this crazy concept into an art project and finger paint a pot o’ gold!

This page doesn’t only need to be used as a finger painting activity, of course. If you prefer, it can also be used as a Saint Patrick’s Day coloring page or painting page (with a brush instead of fingers).

Saint Patrick’s Day Finger Painting Activity Materials Needed

Supplies Needed

• Paint tray or plate for holding the paint
• Finger paint
• Print the free download (farther down in the post)

The type of paint doesn’t really matter but washable kid’s paint, finger paint, tempera, or acrylic paint will work best.

Also, make sure to have wet wipes or paper towels handy to wipe your kid’s fingers when they want to change colors.

Saint Patrick’s Day Finger Painting Activity Step by Step Directions

1. Use yellow to make gold coins inside the pot!

2. Then use green to make the leaves of the four leaf clovers.

3. Next use different colors to make the rainbow.

That’s it! If you want, you can also use grey or black to paint the pot.
