You can actually play most of Dying Light 2‘s campaign with one or even more friends. That’s one good way to make your experience way more enjoyable. Dying Light 2 – How to unlock co-op
Dying Light 2‘s introduction isn’t built with co-op in mind. You need to learn the ropes by yourself before you’re able to scale buildings and cross rooftops in style.
An early quest is called Markers of Plague, and is the third story quest after Pilgrim’s Path and Getting Stronger. Only once you’ve finished Markers of Plague will you find the online options you need to use for co-op play in the pause menu.
Once Markers of Plague is complete, you should be able to navigate to your in-game menu and see the Online Menu prompt at the bottom of the screen.
Dying Light 2 – How to play co-op
Now that you have the Online Menu available, it’s time to use it. You can open the online menu and you have a few options available. You can directly invite your friends that are using the same platform, for example (this includes all PC launchers as you can sign in via Epic or Steam here to invite friends using those launchers).
If you don’t have any friends looking to play with you right now, you can always enjoy co-op with strangers. The Quick Play option at the top will connect you to the game of an online player who has their campaign set to open, and then you can assist them with all manner of quests. You even keep all the loot and experience you receive over the course of your co-op adventure. This is a great way to assist friends and gain experience.
