How to Split Text into Two Columns in Word

This article will show you how to divide text into two columns in Microsoft Word software when using a computer.

Open the Microsoft Word document that you want to edit. You need to find the document in your computer and double click to open it.

Select all the text to split. You will select by clicking at the beginning of the text and dragging to the end of the text. The selected text will be highlighted in blue.

You can select the entire document by pressing the keyboard shortcut ⌘ Command + A on Mac and Contrp + A on Windows operating systems.

Select the Cpumns item in the Layout tab. This will display a selection of the number of columns to be split in a drop-down menu.

Select the item Two in the drop-down menu. This will split the selected text into two columns.

Also you can choose to split the text into more columns.

Adjust the size of the column by adjusting the ruler at the top. You can click and drag the ruler to adjust the size of the text column.

You only need to make adjustments as needed. If you do not want to adjust, the columns will default to be of equal size.
