Whatever the reason, there are many situations where you feel that you need to improve your self-confidence. Behaving confidently is part of building confidence. Steps
Imitate Confident People
- Participating in a variety of activities will give you the opportunity to be friendly and show your confidence.
- Introduce your name to others. This action will give them the impression that you respect yourself and that you are worth their hearing. [2] X Research Source
- For example, don’t talk about yourself too much. When you regularly talk about your own achievements, others will think that you are looking for approval and approval. Confident people don’t try to seek approval from the outside. Instead, you should try to find out about your partner’s achievements and life! [4] X Research Sources
- Accept compliments politely. When others give you positive praise, you should thank them and accept the compliment. Confident people know they deserve praise and respect. Don’t sound self-deprecating by saying you’re not good at something, or acting like your success is just luck.
- Stand with your back straight and shoulders straight.
- Make eye contact when talking to others.
- Do not stir constantly.
- Relax tense muscles.
- Try to limit your use of words such as “um” and “uh”.
- Efforts to improve your appearance will make you appear more serious about your needs.
- For example, if you’re trying to make a statement and someone interrupts you, you could say, “Sorry, I want to finish my sentence.”
- For example, don’t tell others that you don’t love your hair. You should look for something that you love about your physical appearance and focus on it. Or, you can get a new haircut and change the negative image into a positive one.
- Challenge the negative thinking you’re forming in a situation where you’re going to a party by reassuring yourself that you have social skills and that you can easily talk. with people in different situations.
- For example, if you’re feeling nervous about a job interview, you could inhale for 4 counts, hold for 4 counts, and exhale for 4 counts. Your body will become more relaxed, and this will help you look more confident in the eyes of others.
Practice Behaving Confidently
- For example, if you want to appear confident during an interview, you can view this process as an opportunity for you to find out if your work experience and knowledge can contribute. to the needs of the company. You could say, “As you said, one of the skills you are looking for is helping the company expand its access to rail transportation. With my previous job position at ABC Transportation Company, I helped three major domestic customers expand their access to rail transportation services, bringing in an additional $1 million for the company. If it is not possible to raise this number, I would very much like to be able to bring the same benefit to XYZ Multimodal Transport Company.”
- You’ll look more confident in your future boss’s eyes because you’ve communicated to them about your past accomplishments in a way that’s genuine rather than bragging. In addition, you are also conveying your enthusiasm for being part of the company.
- This can be expressed through small factors, such as deciding which restaurant you will go to for dinner. Don’t think too much about this. Just choose the restaurant you want to go to and enjoy the time.
- If it’s a pretty big decision, like accepting a new job, you can take a little extra time to evaluate the pros and cons of the outcome of your decision. You just have to remember that you shouldn’t “hmmm” too much.
Build Confidence Inside Out
- Set realistic goals and try to accomplish them. Be confident that you can accomplish the goal.
- Love your true self. Accept yourself with all positive and negative traits. Allow yourself to make mistakes and reward yourself for success.
- Chat with your loved one. Someone who loves you can help you see positivity in yourself. They love you for a specific reason, and their influence will positively impact your self-esteem.
- I am a great friend.
- I am a hard worker.
- I excel in math, science, spelling, grammar, etc.
- I won a trophy in a chess competition.
- Write down a list of situations in which you feel confident. For each situation, write about what made you feel confident in that situation. Example: “I feel confident around my friends. Reason: I’ve known them for a long time. I know they don’t judge me. They accept their true selves.”
- Write about a situation where you did not feel confident. For each situation, write about what is preventing you from becoming confident. For example: “I don’t feel confident when I come to the company. Reason: This is a new job and I’m not sure what I’m doing. My boss was a bit difficult and she reprimanded me for the work I did.”
- Look back at a current situation you’re facing, such as public speaking or a job interview. Think about at least three factors that went quite well in that situation. This method will help you get rid of negative thoughts. [11] X Research Source
- Acknowledge these thoughts as they arise. You simply formed a few bad habits throughout your development. Changing them is completely within your control.
- Reverse thinking. You should form positive thoughts and check to see which ones are true. For example, if you say, “I’m so unlucky,” reverse that thought with the elements you have in your life that make you feel lucky. For example, you might remind yourself, “I have a house to live in, food to eat, and clothes to wear. I have friends and family who always love me. Last year, I won the lottery 1 million dong.
- You need to understand that the inner judgment will not be really accurate. Minimizing it can help you behave with confidence because you will feel more confident without any people who can upset you.
- If you’re constantly thinking about your mistakes, you’re less likely to feel “self-confident” (the belief that you can actually achieve big and small accomplishments). And this will erode your confidence and make you behave less confident. Instead, you should trust that you can overcome the challenge.
Take care of yourself
- You should try to exercise for about 30 minutes a day. [14] X Trusted Source Mayo Clinic Go to Source
Advice
- The only person you need to make that impression is yourself. Look for a happy life instead of a life where you feel as though you need to live up to other people’s expectations, and can never do what you like.
Warning
- Trying too hard to be confident around other people will make them think that you are unstable, arrogant, and want to be noticed.
