This article will show you how to get your Facebook account back after the bad guys have gained access. The easiest way to do this is to change your password. If you can’t change your password, you can report to Facebook that your account has been compromised.

Select the account recovery method. Tap one of the account recovery methods at the top of the page:

  • Email confirmation – Facebook will send a Facebook account recovery code to your email address.

Get the account code. Depending on the selected recovery method, the process will be different:

  • By email – Open your email inbox, search for Facebook messages, and write down the six-digit code in the subject line.
  • Via SMS – Open your phone’s messages , search for new messages from the five- or six-digit phone number, then search for the six-digit code in the text message.
