How to Change Default Language in Google Chrome

Select language. Check the box to the left of the language you want to add.

Set default language. Click ⋮ to the right of the language, and then click Display Google Chrome in this language in the pop-up menu.

Click Relaunch . This is the right selection of the language that you have set as the default for Chrome. The Google Chrome browser will be closed and reopened; after Chrome reopens, the Settings menu and built-in menus will show the language you selected.

Google Chrome takes about 30 seconds to open again.

Advice

Changing the default language will not change the spell check settings. To change this setting, you’ll click Spell check in the “Languages” section, then click the gray slider to the right of the language in which you want spell checking to be enabled. . You can also click the blue slider to the right of the previous default language to disable spell checking for this language.
