Combining a ski-trip with a city trip is surprisingly easy and no, we’re not talking about indoor slopes. These are the cities where you can visit museums, brush up on your history, wander the old town, eat like royalty and fit in a few hours on the slopes.

Innsbruck, Austria

The Austrian city of Innsbruck is often described as the Alps’ largest ski resort and the city does actually have several ski resorts and ski hotels within the city limits. Start your trip with a visit to the Bergiselschanze – a remarkable ski jump designed by renowned architect Zaha Hadid – for a panoramic view of Innsbruck.

Montreal, Canada

All kinds of winter sports are on offer in Montreal, and cross-country skiers are especially well served as many of the city parks offer specially tailored ski routes. Santiago, Chile
