What is vegetable butter?
Margarine is made from vegetable oils such as sunflower oil, soybean oil… that have been hydrogenated . Hydrogenation helps emulsify vegetable oils, which means they change from a liquid to a semi-solid state.
Margarine contains unsaturated fats because it is made from vegetable oils. Health experts say that these unsaturated fats lower bad cholesterol in the body , reducing the risk of atherosclerosis and other diseases.

Why is margarine considered bad?
Although margarine has no cholesterol and is high in unsaturated fats. But during the hydrogenation of cooking oil, most of the unsaturated fat will be converted into saturated fat and trans fat.
Trans fats and unsaturated fats are the main causes of increasing bad cholesterol in the body, increasing the risk of atherosclerosis. It is also for this reason that margarine is considered unhealthy.
In many countries, only zero trans fat margarine is sold.

Note when using margarine
Like margarine, margarine also helps your dishes add a delicious, fatty flavor. Overweight people are advised to use margarine in place of buttermilk .
However, do not overdo it because margarine still contains unsaturated fats and trans fats.
The more solid the margarine, the higher the trans fat content, so stick margarine won’t be as healthy as canned margarine .
Do not use more than 14g (about 1 teaspoon) margarine in 1 day. Vegetable oils should be substituted for margarine when possible.
It is necessary to limit cooking magarine at too high a temperature, not exceeding 150 degrees.
Tips for using margarine
Soften: you usually let the butter solidify in the refrigerator, cut it into small pieces and put it in a bowl, then put it in the microwave. Check until the butter is soft, not melted.
Storage: Butter easily melts at 350°C, so it is best to store it in the refrigerator , if left outside , it will oxidize and have a rancid smell.
Frying : For stir-fries, preheat the pan first then add the butter and only add the food when the butter starts to bubble, otherwise the food will “suck” the butter and become “soggy” rather than crunchy.
